One of the major things that teens and parents are facing is the personal hygiene of teens, to teach them how to take care of their body, mind, and emotional wellbeing at the early stage of puberty.

It might be difficult for a parent to communicate with kids openly teach them about getting their first period for in girls but trust me it’s the one of the life changing situations in the teens as they have immense questions regarding everything they are going through mentally, emotionally as hormones kicks in too early.

Try to answer openly all their questions rather than dodging them, cause if you don’t Ans they might take other ways of knowing it, it might lead to uneasy communication between you and kid in future.

As they will be growing physical as there are many changes are happening and they are curious to know everything, when you start guiding them how to take care of their body, and things they need to do keep their body clean, which build them a confidence and they learn with you as you will be their role model, as we all know parents are best teachers in kids life, you support them not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.

1. Dental hygiene

Dental hygiene is something you need to guide your child to follow the discipline of brushing teeth twice a day and flossing on regular. Visiting a dentist at an early age and on regular intervals is good as they will be guided by a dentist also how to take care of dental health, bad breath, cavity, tooth decay and gums issues.

2. Taking bath regularly

Taking shower is good for body and mind as well.it makes child be confident, clean, and happy. As teens are highly active with their daily activities, sports, it makes them sweat a lot in feet, under arms and hair.

make sure your child take shower in morning and evening and teach them to clean the feet to avoid bad skin rashes that happens if they don’t clean between each finger, under arms with highly sweaty smell and hair in right way that no excess oil leads to dandruff and acne issues.

3. Washing hands

Washing hands before eating food and after eating food is a good habit to avoid germs and many digestions issues. since covid-19 thought us the right way of washing hands and its importance as well.

4. Shaving

Teach your child to shave in the right way in the right direction as most of the teen boys will be having an issue with shaving, teach them, its lifelong lesson they learn from you.

Choosing the right products which suits their skin which should cause them irritations and rashes at a same time, choosing the right shaver, after shaver, shaving cream/foam small little things impact highly in their early grooming age.

5. Body odor

Personal Hygiene and teens, Body odor is common in teens as they are physically active running, playing, being active in sports which leads to a body odor tech them to use deodorant, antiperspirant and showering after a sports activity which helps them a lot to keep good hygiene level and using clean and washed clothes.

6. Period

Personal Hygiene and teens, When girls reach 10years of age start talking openly about their period and how to use sanitary pads and tampons. Teach them how and what exactly the reasons of getting period and how to use , when to change and dispose the sanitary pads and tampons.

As they will be having many questions and curios also at the same time. When you teach the kid at the right time it helps them mentally and emotionally to get prepared for the upcoming physical changes, they don’t get shocked, instead they will be mentally prepared to face it.
